The User Certificate Manager
is a feature in Windows which allows you to manage all the certificates related to your computer.
You can access this manager by clicking -> Run
-> type certmgr.msc
You may notice that certificates will pop up and automatically be re-added in the user certificate manager once you have deleted them.
Deleted certificates being automatically re-added to your User Certificate Manager comes from the action of plugging your Yubikey into a USB port. As soon as you delete a certificate from this interface, it will remove itself. However, if you have certificates imported onto your Yubikey, they will be imported onto your computer as soon as you plug your Yubikey back in.
If you do not need a certificate anymore (such as for testing, etc), ensure you delete the PIV certificate from your Yubikey. Any certificates left on the Yubikey will automatically be imported on to your computer as soon as the device is plugged in.
